Welcome to the blog! Learnings, tips & tricks from a master of sales.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Women need partners who will push them forward and encourage them to go after their dreams. If you want to have a career and a family, you can do that. You deserve a supportive husband who is willing to stay home while you earn the big bucks.
Ok, tell me: What BHAG is closer than you think?????
This is a pipe dream of mine, and in the wee hours this morning, I was wondering who you'd have to ask to ring an opening bell. As I suspected, it's not a magic committee- you just have to ask.
Being humble is definitely a virtue....
I had the pleasure of working with M Harris & Co. this year- they're one of the fastest growing marketing firms in the midwest. And with all these humble, down to earth folks, it can be easy to assume you're talking to a normal person, not an award-winning and BONKERS talented group of absolute powerhouses.
Asutra | Empowering Active Self Care
Women working full time and year round are paid 81 cents for every $1 dollar paid to a man. (Yep, STILL.)
Working Moms Day
I am LOVING what Working Moms of Milwaukee are up to- celebrating and honoring the working moms in the MKE community and beyond.
Salary Negotiation Rule #5 Wait to accept. (5/5)
Thank them for the opportunity. Then ask if there’s a deadline. If you’d like more time than they suggested, ask for it! Much like your salary, you won’t get time you don’t ask for. Make that request.
Salary Negotiation Rule #4 Money first. (4/5)
You’re probably not really willing to forsake income for an extra week of vacation. Vacation time won’t put money in the bank. That’s money you’ll need to take that vacation.
Salary Negotiation Rule #3 Don't give a range. (3/5)
Avoid giving a range for your salary at all costs. If you’ve followed these steps so far, you have your number and that number likely makes you queasy because it’s big. But you won’t get it if you don’t ask for it.
Salary Negotiation Rule #2 Know your number. (2/5)
Don’t wait for an employer or anyone else to tell you what that number should be. The employer would be perfectly happy to give you a lower salary. Instead, do your research to figure out the salary for people in the same position with the same level of experience as you. There are several online tools that can help you do this. Don’t lowball yourself.
Salary Negotiation Rule #1 Don't NEED a job. (1/5)
What are your skills and experience worth to the company? That’s where you start. If you’re worried about paying your bills, it’s likely going to be difficult for you to ask for a higher salary. If you’re feeling more desperate than worthy, you’ll have difficulty showing the employer you deserve it.
Does the thought of negotiating a salary leave you quaking in your heels? I get it.
Maybe you’re worried you’ll ask for too much and lose the opportunity. That is a (remote) possibility, but think about this: do you really want a job that won’t pay you what you’re worth? What would your future look like in that kind of company?
A Story Inside
She's a *really* fantastic person to know for her no-nonsense approach and deep insight into her craft. Her 8 week program, Own Your Authorship, starts shortly, and is a great way to distill a story into a best seller.
Are you ok? What is that like?
For my part, Wisconsin has been pummeled but we avoided this last storm. There are 5 and 6 foot piles of snow everywhere that my darling dog likes to climb to the top of to do her business.
E2: Successful Selling for a New Era
You know, I get all weepy when I think about how important sales skills are to making all your dreams come true. You can't LIVE your dream until you can make a LIVING from your dream.
Scale Belonging: Creating DEI Strategies and Initiatives
If you are working in People Operations, HR, DEI, or even working on a DEI-focused #ERG or affinity group, I highly recommend registering for Scale Belonging.
ARE YOU READY???? I'm rooting for you.
When I work with coaching clients, I'm typically working with people who have hated sales- it's been a real thorn, it's been uncomfortable- and we're getting ready to go get the leads and the sales they've been wishing for. And this stuff works, again and again. But you've got to be prepared for success.
TL;DR I'm giving away 36k in scholarships! 🧠 💰 💥
At the end of last year, I joined a mastermind that changed the game for me and my business. I’m amazing at sales. The rest? Not so much. (Fun fact: I consider a bookkeeper and a marriage counselor to be one and the same.)
Hey hey! I have 2 clients looking to grow their sales teams!
Do you have any recommendations? Both of these companies are open to remote and are some of my favorite people! ❤️
